SkalarkiIO Profiler 5.1 Installation for JeeHell FMGS
SkalarkiIO Profiler is an Application to allow communication between SKALARKI hardware and aircraft or simulation software. All SKALARKI hardware can be used ONLY via SkalarkiIO Profiler and dedicated digitally signed USB driver. Registering SkalarkiIO Profiler is mandatory and it is free of charge for Home Users. Any commercial aplication is allowed only after purchasing related Licence. All licences are available in our Online Shop here.
Installation
1. After downloading SkalarkiIO Profiler 5.1 run the installer.
Click "Next" to move to the next step.
3. Choose JeeHell FMGS component to install. Click on small blue arrow to open context menu and pick "Will be installed on local hard drive" option.
Click "Next" button to move to the next step:
In case you want to change default Profiler installation folder, it can be done in "Installation Folder" tab. We strongly recommend to keep Profiler in default location. Once done click "Next".
4. Click "Install" to proceed with installation. Installer will install all elements automatically.
When installation is completed press "Finish" button.
There is no need to add or edit any files manually. Non of the files needs to be moved or copied to p3d folders.
Configuration
As JeeHeel FMGS works in .dll/Profile mode default predefined Profile for P&P hardware will be installed. Only minimal configuration is needed:
Setting predefined Profile as default
Click on the Profile name and hit "Set Default Profile" button.
Then go to Settings and tick box next to "Run Default Profile at Start"
Since now every time Profiler will be started Default Profile will run automatically. This is very useful feature to start system in full automatic mode.
Set/check JeeHell FMGS Server IP address
Last you need to make sure is if IP address was set correctly. If Profiler runs on the same machine as FMGS_Server, then you can use default local host IP address: 127.0.0.1
But to avoid different issues, we recommend always to use static addressess assigned to PC. (Check using command ipconfig from cmd editor)
If Profiler is running on remote PC, then IP mut be set accordingly. In this case this has to be IP of PC where FMGS_Server is running.
JeeHell FMGS
A320 FMGS software is a freeware solution to replicate the real Airbus A320's Flight Management & Guidance System (FMGS) and main electronic instruments for Microsoft's Flight Simulator® and Lockheed Martin Prepar3D®. The aim with this software is to achieve the greatest realism possible, given the limitations of FS.
1. Installation with SKALARKI support
A320 FMGS Installer needs to be started as administrator. During installation process you will need to choose components accordingly to your cockpit configuration. Installation is different for single PC setup and fifferent for multi-PC setup.
1.1 Single PC Setup
Right after Installer is started we need to choose Simulator version we will be using. In this example it is P3D V4.0 to V4.5
Next we need to choose Main Application components. Let's say, that we need support for complete hardware cockpit, like the one from here. Accordingly we need to check all the components, which reflects our hardware configuration. If we don't have something like for example MCDU F/O or MIP F/O side, then we don't install these components.
Next we need to choose Hardware Modules to be installed.
If you have any other hardware then SKALARKI, then you will need to add support for that as well. This can be done with first installation or adde later.
Finally there is nothing to check in Software Panels as we have full hardware cockpit so we don't need them.
If any of hardware elements is missing like OVHD for example, then we can use software version instead, which would be running on lcd touch screen. Then this software element we will have to add.
Click "Next" to move to the next Window. Here we can select some optional features.
Click "Next" to See Installation summary. If something is not correct or missing, go back and change it. Any changes can be done as well using Installer again.
Once Installation is finished Information window will show where you can find Software versions and changes.
Click "Next" to proceed to two last steps. In Window "Configure" you need to choose how FMGS will be configured. Normally you don't need to edit any of default calues there. Crucial are 3 check boxes on the top of the window.
Paths are obviously exmaples and they are different in each system. Once you are happy with config, click on "Done" button.
Last installation step is controls configuration. Joystick or hardware side stick configuration is crucial, so please do not skip this step.
More informations about FMGS itself can be found in detailed manuals copied to FMGS installation folder.
1.2 Multi PC Setup
In Multi PC setup most important is to have plan of the system before installation. For dual seat cockpits we recommending 3 PC's setup.
- Main PC
- Connected hardware: Side sticks, rudder pedals, Overhead and complete MIP
- Software: p3d, fmgs_server, SkalarkiIO Profiler - Instruments PC
- To drive only MIP instruments (3 lcd screens)
- Software: fmgs displays - Pedestal PC
- To drive complete Pedestal, LAN connected only.
- Software: fmgs_client, fmgs MCDU CS and F/O, FSUIPC Client, SkalarkiIO Profiler
Now on each PC we need to install required components using FMGS Installer applciation. During Installation process we need to choose required elements accordingly.
1.2.1 For Main PC components we need only "Masrter P3D PC", "FMGS Server and AP/FBW", "EGPWS logic", "Sound Module", "FSUIPC Support" and "SKALARKI I/O"
After Installation we need to Configure FMGS accordingly for Main PC. Please check paths to make sure, they are correct for your setup.
1.2.2 For Instruments PC components we need only instruments displays "PFD Captain Side", "ND Captain Side", "PFD FO Side", "ND FO Side", "EWD", "SD", "ISIS" and "DDRMI"
After Installation we need to Configure FMGS accordingly for Instruments PC. Please check IP addresses as we as paths, to make sure they are correct for your setup.
1.2.3 For Pedestal PC components we need only "MCDU Captain Side", "MCDU FO Side", "FSUIPC Support" and "SKALARKI I/O"
After Installation we need to Configure FMGS accordingly for Instruments PC. Please check IP addresses as we as paths, to make sure they are correct for your setup.
Now all configuration should be completed. If you have forgot to install any of FMGS elements, you can always run Installer again and add/remove elements.
2. Controls calibration
All controls like TQ Levers, Flaps, Spoiler, Rudders and Side stick needs to be calibrated in fmgs_config.exe application. You will not be able to use them without calibration. The best is to do it right after new devices are installed. To calibrate any type of lever please follow this procedure.
2.1 Start applications required to proceed with calibration.
Run only: SkalarkiIO Profiler, P3d and fmgs_config.exe in any order. Once all 3 apps are running SkalarkiIO Profiler should look like this one below. It is important to have all boxes green on the left hand side
If SIMULATION box and SIM INTERFACE is red, that means there is no p3d running or no FSUIPC installed.
If AIRCRAFT Interface is red, that means fmgs_config.exe is not running or JEEHELL FMGS Server Settings in Profiler/Settings are wrong. Please make sure Server IP is correct. If Profiler is running on the same PC as p3d and fmgs_config.exe then IP address should be either 127.0.0.1.
Or static IP of this machine
2.2 TQ calibration.
In Profiler/Settings make sure TQ levers you want to calibrate are enabled.
In SkalarkiIO Profielr hit "Run Profile" button,
then switch to fmgs_config window view.
To calibrate TQ levers, click in the THR LVR 1 text box,
then move slowly Lever 1 of the hardware TQ.
Repeat the same for Lever 2, click in the THR LVR 2 text box,
then again move slowly Lever 2 of the hardware TQ.
This is important, that both Levers are detected correctly, so make sure they are detected like on the picture above. If numebrs are swapped, repeat procedure. Sometimes to repeat procedure you might need to Stop Profile, then Run Profile again. If detected correctly, we can proceed with levers calibration.
From "Choose Lever to Setup" dropdown pick lever you want to calibrate.
Let's start with LVR 1
Once selected we need to calibrate detent Positions.
Click on TOGA label, then move Lever 1 to TOGA position, change Value for "Error around detent Position: to 6 then hit "Set" Button.
Then the same with FLX/MCT
