Latest version of SkalarkiIO Profiler 5.1 includes new signed USB driver for all SKALARKI devices. This is one only driver which can be used for all devices. New driver will not be removed after each major Windows update and needs to be installed for only one device. All other connected devices will install driver automatically.

USB Driver will be installed automatically with SkalarkiIO Profiler, then there is no need to do it manually. However if needed in some cases, driver can be removed/added manually.

1. Driver files will be copied into SkalarkiIO Profiler installation folder, where user need to point Windows once asked for driver source.

2. Before manual installation of a new driver please remove old drivers for all installed SKALARKI devices with their files.

3. Windows might ask you to reboot after drivers removal. Then reboot system.

4. Go to Device Manager, where you should see list of Custom USB Devcies without driver.

5. Right click on first one from the list and then hit "Update Driver", then follow onscreen instructions. Use Profiler location for Windows to look for driver. You don't need to point to sub directory. Pointing to Profiler root folder will be enough.

6. Once driver is located, you will see this message:

driver

Hit Install and driver will be installed without asking for permission in future.

7. Now reboot PC again and after that all other SKALARKI devices install their drivers automatically.

Please be aware that +5V for TGauge should be taken from 5V backlight PSU! – Not from IO PSU.
This must be loaded into I/O board before Tgauge connections.

Please make sure you have downloaded new SkalarkiIO Profiler 4.0

Calibrating Servos in TGauge:
1. After upgrading Firmware, please disconnect PSU cable from IO.
2. Connect TGauge: 3 signal wires like in .pdf attached.
3. Connect PSU to TGauge
4. Plug PSU back – Now all servos should move and stop about middle position.  If they  are inside range proceed to point 6.
5. Repositioning Servos dials:
For different reasons like my mistake, pointer on servo can be outside acceptable range and in this case must be fixed mechanically. To do this follow instructions below:
- open back cover of TGauge
- remove two (it might be 4 sometimes) M2 screws which are holding front bezel and remove bezel,
- using fine screwdriver lift up pointers (arrows) to remove them from servo shaft – make it gently – no exceded force is needed!
- once all 3 are removed connect TGauge to IO  and connect PSU. Servos will run to predefined position,
- now put pointers back, but make sure they are showing middle of the range. There is no need to be to exact – more or less is enough as this can be software calibrated in next step,
- assembly all back and proceed to next step.
6. Calibrating servos:
- Servo event’s needs to be added as well in ProfileEditor for each servo. Make sure as Device you will use PEDESTAL or OVERHEAD where TGauge is connected
- open SkalarkiIO Profiler, EditProfile, Add 3 servo’s like any other devicess to profile, then go to Test
- drag slider to position “60” – then using “Offset” value make sure pointers showing middle of the range.
- then move slowly slider left to “0” position, but make sure dragging slider will not force dial to go below 0! Use “Offset value” to adjust dial exactly in “0” position with slider being in “0” position as well.
- Once “Offset” is correctly adjusted slider should move pointers from 0 to max position without any problems.
- If ready Save servo and assign event.
- Repeat procedure for all 3 servos

faq - MCDU Tutorial

  • 1. First connection

    SKALARKI MCDU PROVersion comes already assembled and ready to work. But to get it working, power supply for LCD screen and IO is needed (not included in package). In older version of MCDU both of them are 5V DC, but in newer version it can be different (please check on label situated on back side of the unit) and their connectors are situated at the back of unit. For older versions of device, one power supply 5V DC and 3A (for new MCDU - 12V 1.5A) can be used for both connectors. As LCD power must be supplied, the backlighting is not necessarily. Backlighting circuit is separated and can be switched ON and OFF from pedestal switch panel if needed.
    Next step is to download latest release of SkalarkiIOProfiler. Package contains some folders including USB divers needed in next step. After downloading just run installer. All new versions and updates will be handled by auto updater feature build into Profiler.

    Once everything is ready (PSU for at least LCD is connected) plug in USB into PC.

  • 2. Installing USB driver

    As this is USB device installation procedure, proceeding is exactly same like for any other USB hardware. Connect unit to USB socket.
    USB_exclamation
    Once MCDU is connected to PC, windows will ask for driver for new USB device, then point search patch to folder with SkalarkiIOProfiler unpacked in point 1.
    If you have bought only one MCDU use driver from folder MCDU1. If you have two you will need install different drivers for both MCDU's for CS side from MCDU1 folder. For FO side from MCDU2 folder. Label with MCDU type (MCDU1 or MCDU2) is situated on back cover of the unit. Once driver is installed correctly device will be listed on the Device Manager list.

    USB_installed

    This message confirms that USB driver was installed correctly.

    USB installed readytouse

    If for some reason next to name of usb device, in this case SKALARKI MCDU2, red cross or yellow exclamation mark appeared - driver wasn't installed correctly.

    To reinstall driver right click on device name, then click on "Update Driver" and follow the screens below.

    USB_driver-reinstallation
    USB_driver-reinstallation1

    USB_driver-reinstallation2

    USB_driver-reinstallation3

    And finally you will end up with USB driver installed. See screen below.

    USB_installed

    This example was for MCDU2 (FO side - in situation user has got two MCDU devices) but in exactly same way MCDU1 driver has to be installed.

    After successfully driver installation proceed to next step.

    Once everything is ready (PSU for at least LCD is connected) plug in USB into PC.

  • 3. Installing MCDU to work with WILCO Airbus

    First you need to buy FSUIPC Exporter from Eric Marciano (http://emarciano.free.fr/En/index.htm)
    Then install it and make some manual changes in dll.xml file:

    • You have to locate the ‘dll.xml’ file in:
      • C:\Users\<Your User Name>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX for FSX
      • C:\Users\<Your User Name>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX-SE for FSX Steam Edition
      • C:\Users\<Your User Name>\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D for all P3D versions
    • Backup and edit this file with Notepad or any other text editor and add the following lines in the Simbase.Document section:

      <Launch.Addon>
              <Name>FSUIPC_Exporter</Name>
              <Disabled>False</Disabled>
              <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
              <Path>Addon Modules\FSUIPC_Exporter.dll</Path>
              <DllStartName>module_init</DllStartName>
              <DllStopName>module_deinit</DllStopName>
      </Launch.Addon>

    Finally MCDU window needs to be modified:

    For the MCDU window, you have to edit the panel.cfg file and add these lines:

    [Window04]
    Background_color=1,1,1
    size_mm=350,285
    window_size_ratio=1.00
    position=0
    visible=1
    ident=9995
    gauge00=A320CFM_feelThere!MCDU,  -70,-35,490,750

    Now all should work
